LOGLINE

Extraordinary telekinetic powers don’t make you Superman.  Being only human, it just complicates the life of Scott Langly.  Scott is just a nice guy that wants to help the people of the world with his power, but his help is limited.  Zoe Zinzki (3Z) wants to help herself.  She uses Scott to achieve the celebrity she desires.  This is a sexy, relationship comedy oriented story that shows how people manipulate each other in both personal and business relationships.  Thus there is a lot of ruthless ambition, emotional conflict and graphic violence within the story action.

SETTING AND CONCEPT

Location:          Modern day Los Angeles.  The near chaos of some sections of the city and

their random violence based events.  Both rich Beverly Hills and poor south central LA and everything in between are covered.

Concept:          Explore the limitations in every human being.  Sexual manipulation,

beauty, exercising of political and personal power as well as the lack of each, by exploiting the limits of Scott Langly’s repulsive aura, telekinetic power.

Summary:         A sexy, relationship comedy containing exaggerated personalities, ruthless

ambition, emotional conflict and graphic violence.  Scott Langly has an

extraordinary telekinetic power, but it is very limited.  He can push object

away from his skin with his mind but only by about a half an inch.  He

calls it his repulsive aura.  It is the limitations of this extraordinary power

that is used as a major dramatic and comic device in the various episodes.

His repulsive aura only works when he is thinking about it.  He has to

think AWAY!    He has used it in his life to prevent cuts and even bullet

penetrations.  He has to concentrate, focus hard when he is in the middle

of some catastrophe, such as a guns fight, to keep his repulsive aura intact.

It doesn’t work if he is unconscious.  He can extend his repulsive aura to

another person only if he has direct contact with them.  Producing the aura

always makes him hungry, the more he uses it, the hungrier he gets.  The

excessive oil in Junk Food gets Scott the extra energy he needs.  Scott thus

is always eating, Junk Food (JF) mostly.  Scott is a nice guy,

too nice a guy maybe, and goes around touching people in life threatening

situations.  In LA there are plenty of them.  Scott doesn’t let anyone know

what he can do.  He just does it.  It is almost like a hobby for him

Zoe Zinzki is a beautiful, aggressive, and mostly annoyed video journalist that discovers Scott and what he can do and forces him to team up with her to be part of the News events she covers.  She uses Scott’s power to advance her career.  She grows rich and a celebrity, while Scott stays in the background.  He has to be right there, touching her, to protect her, but she never mentions him.  He does it because he can help me people by being with 3Z.  He falls for her of course, although, she does it for business purposes not caring about much else.  It is a successful but bumpy relationship.  3Z is the dynamic driving force of the events, while Scott just reacts to the situation and circumstances that surround him.

Scott is always getting his feelings hurt, while 3Z just wants the story.  Eventually, as 3Z’s success increases, she and Scott move into a Malibu beach house together.  Scott misinterpreted the move.  For 3Z it’s just business, trouble, of course, along with more misunderstandings follow.

MAIN CONTINUING CHARACTERS

SCOTT LANGLY –  Small thin white male - 20ish.

Student at Saint Monica Community College.  He works at Teddy’s Liquor on the night shift.  Scott has always had his telekinetic power to push object, anything away from his skin, by about a half an inch.  His repulsive aura.  As a kid it used it instead of a bath to keep himself clean.  He could even use it to comb his hair, simply straighten it out and then let it fall.  Now he keeps his head shaved, otherwise, people can see it spike as he uses his powers.  As a teen he used to prevent cuts, scrapes and even knife thrusts.  Only after starting work at Teddy’s did he realize it could push away bullets.  Also there he realized he could project the repulsive aura to cover another person as long as he was touching that person.  Scott now travels around LA looking for people to touch and thus Protect.  He calls himself the Unknown Protector because he has never told anyone about his repulsive aura, not even his mother.  The Unknown Protector; saving one person at a time.  Scott is the seventh son of the seventh daughter of a seventh daughter.  His mother stated that she had telepathic and witch-like powers.  Scott doubted it because she never mentioned his powers.  Scott can also make people vomit.

ZOE ZINZKI  (3Z) – Half Korean / Half white Canadian – late 20s.  Beautiful, athletic, aggressive, annoyed, and annoying.

She wanted to be a Novelist, but no one reads anymore so she became a video journalist.  She is always on the move.  She spends most of her time on Roller Blades.  Her Power Blades.  They make her faster and taller than most folks.  She is a problem solver.  Crime, riots, catastrophes, anything conspicuous is her fodder.  She has a method for finding the central causation of that conspicuousness.  Common Face for a common consequence, CFCC she calls it.  She videos the crowds around the conspicuous event and then scans the faces for reoccurring people.  Local gang members, local corrupt cops, arsonists, and general odd balls can be found.  It works.  It keeps her on the top of the very competitive LA video jungle.  By using CFCC, she discovers Scott’s involvement in many of the recent catastrophes in LA.  She convinces Scott to tell her about his powers.  She is the only one that knows there is an Unknown Protector and teams up with Scott to HELP more people.  That is what she told Scott.  Actually, she did it to improve her career, gain celebrity and cash.  With Scott touching her, she can walk right into the midst of a catastrophe without fear of injury.  Up close and personal with disaster.  Scott loves touching her.  He would go anywhere with her.  She never mentions Scott to anyone, even though he is always there.  Jealousy, unrequited love, hate, conflict thus ensue.  When they end up living together in the Malibu beach house, domestic turmoil is generated.  They are only roommates to 3Z.  To Scott they are much much more, too much more.

RALPH HASTINGS – Red headed white male – late 30s.  A self proclaimed Jerk

He says anything, will do anything for attention.  The more politically incorrect the better.  It gets him more attention.  Outrage generates attention.  He works with 3Z because he is very good with image processing and enhancement as well as database searches.  But she hates him because he really is a Jerk.  Everyone hates him for the same reason.  But people always notice him.

BROWN PIERCESON  - 50ish African / Scottish Entrepreneur.  Bold, adventurous, rich and annoying.

Brown says he is the descendant of African slaves that were brought to Scotland in the 1700’s.  He has a thick Scottish accent, but who knows?  Brown keeps on the move.  He owns the Video Van the 3Z uses for her  News collection.  He may be a weapons merchant or a Used Car dealer or import / export.  He will do anything; has done anything.  Brown is always hitting up on 3Z but she brushes it off.  Brown likes her new celebrity and tries to get a piece of that action.  Brown also just likes to win.  If he can bring down a pompous rich guy in the process, it makes it all the better.

RECURRING CHARACTERS

SALLY – Smart, but quiet Latina – 20ish

She is competent at all she does.  She is part of 3Z’s video coverage team/

PHIL – Gay male – late 20ish.

He is less competent but gets the job done as part of 3Z’s video coverage team.  He hates Ralph to the point of murder.

TEDDY  - Owner of Teddy’s Liquor, the place where Scott is on the night shift.

STANLY SPAN, PH. D. – Scott’s biology professor.  He is enthusiastic, humorous and energetic.  He explains a lot of how the world works to Scott.

MOM & DAD ZINZKI -  3Z’s parents.  Both are naturalized Canadians living in Ottawa.  Mom Z is from Korea.  Dad Z is from Sweden.  Dad Z is an engineer that wants the best for his daughter.  Her celebrity worries him more than makes him proud.  Mom Z is confused about the Western Hemisphere.  She loves her daughter but can’t understand, doesn’t want to understand anything her daughter does or is doing.  “Why LA?  Why not Korea?”  Mom Z continually asks.
