ELECTRONIC FILTER
I do mean filter. The word filter is derived from the Latin, feltrum, meaning fulled-wool used for straining liquors.
That is, any porous substance that removes impurities.
In this modern electronic world everyone can have instant, immediate contact
with the rest of the world, but no one really wants that . . . everyone screens their calls. Everyone judges what is an impurity.
Purity has always been a value judgment, now, even more so.
We are all of qualified purity. Impurity can be defined here as simply
inconvenient. Prioritizing? Okay. That will do too.
But we are all prioritized and re-prioritized. We are all being judged on a routine basis. No wonder we are so insecure.

he must be distracted."

So that now
I would only
be a bloody lump
In an emergency room bed,
Clinging to the pitiful threads of my life
